born near the sea as descent of an old seafaring family. turned down by nautical college as being weak in the green/blue coloursection of my eyes. turned into a poet and later moved into advertising as copywriter/copydirector/creative director (in that order) because poems hardly ever deliver hard cash (smile). now retired and living in a small fisherman's hamlet close to the belgian border and nestling in the dunes that line the banks of the seagoing river scheldt.

a very special atmosphere is created in all his paintings. people
and actions are frozen in stylized settings.

here you'll find a bunch of 'marine painters'. as a shiplover i find that a marine painter should be a painter of either ships or sea, bu here they have a broader view: coastlines, pleasurecraft,
people collecting shells... it takes some time to find a decent
painting of a real seagoing vessel.
